READING ROCKS!!! A. HT Literary Theater is for schools who want more than the typical author/illustrator visit... "A CELEBRATION OF READING" B. We will design the program to compliment your literary curriculum. How does the program benefit your school? 1. HT Literary Theater does not follow the basic "lecture format.” “Instead of merely talking about his craft lecture-style, he had a set with lights, music, and special effects to hold the students’ interest. He adjusted his program for all students, thus both challenging and entertaining students from Kindergarten up to fifth grade,”Joanna Teodosio, Teacher/Cultural Arts Director - Calf Pen School, Milford CT 2. HT Literary Theater is the most age appropriate program available... “We are so accustomed to author programs that are not age appropriate.Huga Tuga Literary Theater directly related to each age group (K-5) and was animated, fun and definitely an experience the children will remember for years to come. This is what enrichment programs should be all about.” Teaching Staff, Daisy Ingraham School, Westbrook, CT 3.HT Literary Theater makes a difference... “My daughter goes to Lordship School in Stratford, CT. She came home talking about Huga Tuga, she was so excited! She's in Kindergarten and she asked if the blue sea monster could come live with us with his stories? How could I say no to a kid who is fired up about reading. Keep up the good work and keep me informed about the new books coming out,”Carolyn Leon, Parent, Stratford, CT

“You were the absolute HIT of our book fair! We have never experienced anything like it (8 other authors participated). It was a wonderful, lively and inspiring presentation. A. Reading and Creating "IDEAS".
I will show the students how a simple "idea" can be turned into something amazing if your imagination is strong enough.
Example: The students will "visually" experience how a page in the Huga Tuga & the Seashell Mystery storybook is created. From the first word written to the final design.
Along the way the students will learn that it is ok to make mistakes and the more times you re-write a story the better it gets.
.
A. Cartoon Illustrating Segment - Creating an "IDEA"
The students and I will create a cartoon character that resembles a pencil. Why a pencil? It is a valuable tool used by both an author and illustrator. The students imagination begin to stir.
The Connection (K-3)
How an "idea"...
Reading Fuels Our Imaginations
